The Essence of the American Spirit.
Tomorrow, April 30th, 2012 a
dedication ceremony will be held in New York City, at One World Trade
Center marking the placement of the final piece of steel for the
spectacular new building also known as the “Freedom Tower”. Now
officially 1776 feet high, One World Trade Center is more than the
City's tallest building in a city whose skyline remains unrivaled the
world over.
More than ten years have passed since
9/11/2001, a horrific day which sadly, once again starkly evidenced
that mankind is as capable of evil acts, as it is capable of
selfless, wonderful actions. Yes, The United States of America was
bloodied. Was she defeated? Absolutely not, quite to the contrary her
will remains unbowed, with a determination and steadfastness of
purpose to avenge and defeat those that would threaten to destroy
Liberty's cradle.
To see the NYC skyline on a daily basis
makes me feel both humbled, as well as filled with pride. Let us
never forget. One WTC: It is a reminder of loss. A testament to
resilience.
In the immortal words of our great
friend and statesman, Sir Winston Churchill, “Now
this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it
is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
